Question by rat_lover53: What’s the difference Between an Intel Core Duo processor and a Pentium 3 processor?I need a new computer for school but have specifics on what it is supposed to be. It needs a Pentium 3 processor, but all the ones I’ve looked at have Intel Core Duo processors. what is the difference, and will it make a difference if I get the Intel processor instead of the Pentium processor? Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by Tim SThe pentium 3 is really old. they stopped making them in ’03.

The Duo Core processors are newer and more powerful (they are like having two processors at the same time)

If you buy a Pentium 3 computer, you will be buying a used, outdated computer. there is really no reason why you’d HAVE to buy this. for what reason do they say it has to be a Pentium 3?
