What software do the authorities use to tap into a smartphone or other electronic device?

Since the Patroit Act, ANY law enforcement agency can log onto the internet with a phone number and get a record of ALL the calls to and from that number. They need a court order to listen in, in most cases, however during the Bush presidency, he authorized 39,000 illegal wiretaps of US citzens a year. Companies that own cell phone towers, post offices, phone companies, banks, grocery stores and on and on, routinely sell all your private information to data banks even if you don't want them to. I know one guy who had been shot at a number of times and he couldn't get any of these to keep his information private, even at the risk of his life. They just won't stop until someone stops them.

Also, if your phone has power to it, they can turn on your mike and listen to everything you do as you go about your daily business. I take my phone battery out when not using this. I verified this by buying a bug detector and watching the signals the phone was sending to the tower.

Also, if you have any kind of Onstar or anything like that on your car, it can be used to track you even if you've had the service turned off by the company. the car is still putting out a signal. the only way to stop it, is to locate the unit (not easy) and disconnect it, or take it out and attach a magnet and wire it to a garbage truck and let them track it.
