Tracking More Showers

ABILENE, Texas — We had another “disturbance” move eastward into our region Friday afternoon. I didn’t start making thundershowers until it got in our eastern counties – mainly east and southeast of Abilene. These showers are weakening as we move into the nighttime hours. Our LIVE Storm Tracker Network site in Baird measured 0.36″ of needed rainfall Friday evening.We are tracking yet another disturbance Friday evening that is bringing a band of thundershowers from Amarillo to northern Oklahoma. This system is forecast to continue marching southeastward overnight. the better chances of rain look to be up in Oklahoma, but we could see some thundershowers in our area Saturday morning.We are looking at continued thundershower chances for the afternoon and evening Saturday as we should still have some wind shift boundaries in our area. We are looking at rain chances remaining around 30%By Sunday, these rain triggers are forecast to be too far away from our area to bring showers. So, we are looking at dry weather for Sunday and early next week.Temperatures that only climbed into the upper 90s for much of the area Friday should top out in the upper 90s again Saturday. Triple digits are expected to return Sunday and continue well into next week.
