The singer will be running for president of Haiti in the November 28th election of this year, reports Hollyscoop. although he grew up in New York, Wyclef was born in Port-au-Prince and has been offering much help to his country after the recent earthquake disaster.

In fact, it was the earthquake that encouraged him to move forward with this desire, “If not for the earthquake, I probably would have waited another 10 years before doing this.”
