Do local police stations have polygraph tests?

Do local police stations have polygraphs? The reason i want to know is because my grandmother thinks i stole from her store. I was told every local police station has one…is this true? can she just up and go if she wanted to take me?

No. most polygraph operators are from the state level. they won't give a polygraph for a minor offense like a shoplifting.

However, there are plenty of private polygraph operators in larger communities… she can contact one of them and pay them to give you the test.

And yes, she can 'up and go' with you to one of those private operators.

Police dog that went missing Sunday found limping on road

Taz, the missing Santa Rosa police dog, has been found.

An employee at VCA Forestville Animal Hospital in Sebastopol found the 4-year-old Belgian Malinois wandering on Starr Road in Windsor while she was on her way to work around 10 a.m. today, Santa Rosa police Lt. Steve Bair said.

The K-9 was discovered missing from an enclosure in the backyard of his handler’s Windsor residence at Starr Road and old Redwood Highway around 11 p.m. Sunday.

Police believe he became frightened by nearby fireworks. the town of Windsor held its fireworks celebration Saturday night, but people firing off illegal fireworks might have frightened the K-9, Bair said.

The 70-pound dog is in good health but was limping and may have injured his right shoulder when he hopped a fence, Bair said. the dog’s nails also were worn down to the pads of his paws.

“It looks like he pulled an all-nighter,” Bair said.

The employee scanned a chip in the dog’s neck for identification and determined it was European. Bair said the chip was implanted in Europe.

The employee saw news stories about the missing dog and called Santa Rosa police.

Taz was at the Santa Rosa police station this morning and will be checked by a veterinarian Tuesday, Bair said.
