The Dallas Mavericks Tie the Series at 2 Against the Miami Heat

It wasn’t pretty but the Dallas Mavericks managed to tie the series against the Miami Heat by winning 86-83. They overcame not only the Miami Heat but their leader Dirk Nowitzki was suffering from a 101 degree fever yet he managed to gather enough strength to score 10 points in the last quarter, including a layup in that put the Mavericks up by three with them clinging to a one point lead. the Heat had a chance to tie, but on their last position Dwayne Wade fumbled the inbound pass yet he managed to get the ball to Mike Miller who air balled a three point shot.

The Mavericks won this game by getting down and dirty and doing thing they’re not accustomed doing. They played tough defense, rebounded especially in the fourth quarter and making just enough shots down at the end. things were not looking good in the fourth when they trailed by 9 with ten minutes to play. but like they have the entire playoffs they rallied. this time they did it not with their potent offense, but with defense. They held the Heat to fourteen points in fourth quarter by going to zone and making the Heat take long jump shots with the clock running down. Jason Terry who again struggled throughout made a couple of jump shots to keep the Mavericks in it, until Notwitzki took over. Notwitzki who started off fast by making his first three shots, yet as the game wore on you could tell he was ill, yet he fought through the illness and was clutch down the stretch just like he’s been throughout the playoffs. He basically willed the Mavericks to this win. He got help from Shawn Marion who scored 16 points and played great defense on Lebron James and Tyson Chandler who had 16 rebounds but more importantly played over 40 minutes and not getting in foul trouble. this was important because Brendon Haywood was still ailing with his injury. this was a gutty and much needed win. A type of effort they are going to need this series.

The Heat blew their chance to take control of this series. When they got up by nine with ten minutes to play, you would have thought with their defense that lead should hold up. but it didn’t. Dwayne Wade who’s last second fumble ( reminded Dallas fans of the Tony Romo’s fumble against Seattle a few years back in playoff game) who costly but it wasn’t the reason the Heat lost. Wade did part scoring 32 point on a variety of jump shots, and dunks and even had a couple of highlight blocks. One in particular was against center Tyson Chandler. but Wade could not do it by himself as Chris Bosh was the only other player in double figures. LeBron James disappeared as he fell in love with his jump shot. in the fourth quarter with the Mavericks in zone, it took the Heat out of their offense as they were content to shoot jump shot after jump shot. at the end it looked like the Heat were spent from all the hard defense they played and had nothing else left. the Heat have outplayed the Mavericks for most of the series and have led for large chunks of the game. They easily could have been up at least 3-1, but are instead they are tied and it’s now a three game series. the good news for the Heat is that this series is being played at their pace. the bad news is that the Mavericks are overdue to get hot at some point.

    Detroit Tigers Chances in 2009

In the 108th season of Tigers Baseball, it really was a huge disappointment. one of the best fielding third baseman in the game today was forced to play catcher, Miguel Cabrera, though his bat warmed up later in the season, was rustier then a barn nail trying to play first base. though we were predicted to win the AL Central Division, it took the Tigers 8 games into the season to get there first win, and by mid September their chances were all but done. it was a season riddled with injuries, but more importantly bad defense. Edgar Renteria signed with the San Francisco Giants this off-season for 18.5 million dollars which tells me the management in San Fran aren’t big Tiger fans, or they would’ve seen how much he declined at the shortstop position. Yes there was a lot of disappointment last year but I have some points why the 2009 season will be a little more exciting for Tigers fans.

I will start out where I left off; the Tigers replaced Renteria with Adam Everett. We knew the Tigers were not going to go out this off-season and unload a lot of money, but he seems like a good cheap fix at one million dollars for one year. I think you could glue a glove to a stick and that’s a major upgrade from Renteria. They also signed Gerald Laird and Matt Treanor allowing Inge to move back to third base. Carlos Guillen will be moved to left field to keep his bat in the lineup which is an easy transition for most players. and a move I found under the radar, yet extremely important would be the signing of Brandon Lyon. Going to be honest, not going to miss Todd Jones living up to his nickname rollercoaster. definitely not sold on Fernando Rodney closing, so it’s another cheap deal the Tigers made to make themselves better.

The deal for the 2009 season for the Tigers would be up to the bullpen. They need Verlander back to his old self, Zumaya healthy and seeing Dontrelle reach old form would be unexpected, but well appreciated. with two possible Verlander’s in the minors (Rick Porcello, Ryan Perry) the bullpen I promise will look better then last season. Let’s just hope Bonderman fully recovered.

PA Governer Tom Corbett Is Rooting For The Penguins Over The Flyers In The NHL Playoffs

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Did you vote for Tom Corbett? are you a Flyers fan? if you answered yes to those questions, get ready to possibly regret that vote.

In an interview with the Bubba Show on 100.7 Star in Pittsburgh, Corbett said he’s pulling for the Penguins on their opening round NHL playoff series against the Flyers. ““When I moved to Pittsburgh as a little boy, 6 years old, I started rooting for the Pittsburgh Hornets, before the Penguins were in existence and I’ve been rooting for the Penguins ever since and you don’t change your decisions,” he said.

Then, when asked if that means he’s pulling for Pittsburgh, Corbett said “absolutely.”

The Flyers lead the series three games to one. Game five is tonight, and can be heard on 94WIP and 610WIP.

You can listen to the entire interview with Corbett at this link.

PS3 Games – Two Sides of the Same Coin

What’s up everyone? it is just the time for some fun and real frolic to dust off the tiredness and stress of your job. I am talking about PlayStation 3, the latest console from Sony entertaining both the kids as well as the adults equally. with hectic work schedules from 9 to 11, we definitely deserve the luxury of relaxation. you can never ever get anything much better than this gaming mania. it will simply be the world where we can be the stars with nothing and absolutely nothing to worry about.

Now, let me introduce you to our new friend Mr.PS3 Games. The most adorable character about our friend is that it doesn’t include any hand held game console or mobile phones which run a completely different version of the game under the same name. it is an updatable software and operating system of PS3 that seems to be identical to PSP. The graphic used is none other than 3D computer graphics API software.

Something that is definitely guaranteed is we can watch it blossom as time goes into a machine that has something for everyone. a fact that can’t be denied is Sony electronics’ dream of PS3 has become the entertainment hub of every house today.

As everything else this too does have its pros n cons. When it helps in brain development, increases alertness and gives us a great deal of relaxation, it does produce a lot many couch potatoes too. Limiting the co curricular activities and exercise to just movement of eyeballs and fingers leaving an imprint on the couch. But this isn’t a strong enough reason to deprive the opportunity for enjoyment. The success rate has gone to an extent where media has even launched play station official magazine. you can check them online also for some great and updated news on the console. The top names you should definitely remember are:

        1. Final fantasy XII walkthroughs.

        2. God of war III walkthroughs

        3. Dead rising 2 walkthrough.

        4. Red dead redemption walkthrough.

        5. Heavy rain walk through.

I would say my personal favorite is heavy rain walkthrough. try it and I assure, you will never regret it. so guys what are you waiting for? Go ahead and enter the world of PlayStation 3 games and realize what you have been missing till now. it will certainly be the world where you’ll mark your domain and leave an imprint of joy
