The ASP World Championship Tour kicks of this month in Australia’s Gold Coast with the Quiksilver Pro presented by Land Rover. this contest traditionally provides a fantastic start to the season held in the barreling right hand point breaks that dominate the South Queensland region. the scene of some of surfing’s great moments and home to the legendary MP, this place is steeped in history. the beaches are loaded with beautiful woman making it almost impossible to stay focused to win the title. the local surfers the likes of Mick Fanning, Josh Kerr and Joel Parkinson know this wave inside and out, and they will be tough to beat. I still remember that semi final when Josh Kerr pulled an unbelievable move at the end of the heat only to lose on the judge’s score cards but win on the couches around the world.

This year’s title is looking exciting we have an established top ten that can beat anyone on their day, a new crop of radical surfers that will shake things up more than free beer offered at the local. Jordy Smith has been hanging in South Africa plotting and training hard and looks dangerous after a spell off the hot chips. Will Kelly Slater show, of course he will he loves the wave too much. Will Dane Reynolds fire and make a statement to the surfing community? It all looks set for a showdown of epic proportions and we can’t wait. MP famously used to abstain from the ladies before a contest of this importance, luckily this does not necessarily work for everyone.

The Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast will run from February 26 through March 9, 2011.

The ASP World surfing tour has continued to captivate surfers around the globe with the level of surfing continuing to improve to levels not previously seen. the judging criteria has also changed significantly whereby the Asp judges are now rewarding critical moves which has given the surfers on the Asp elite tour freedom to express themselves and all in the best waves on the planet. this years tour should be amazing especially when we consider a new venue has been added, the Quiksilver Long Island Pro. this contest will be more than just a surfing competition it is planned to be a festival of sorts incorporating music, arts and of course the surfing. Coupled with this is the Rip Curl somewhere competition which continues to take the surfing elite to a new undisclosed location every year, in past years the conditions have been outstanding.

For the second time, Taylor Swift won Entertainer of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards.

Making a Country Music Association Awards record, Taylor Swift won Entertainer of the Year for the second time. her first Entertainer of the Year award was in 2009, and now the Speak Now singer is tied with Barbara Mandrell. Swift beat out Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, and Keith Urban for the award.

after she won, Swift said: “To look out into a stadium full of people is the most overwhelming feeling – it’s a sea of people and you can’t see the end of it. They’re the ones who decide whether you’re playing in a theater or a stadium. I’m absolutely in awe of the fact that they have taken it further and further and topped themselves every single year.”

her award can be attributed to the success of Speak Now, which was released roughly a year ago. the singer is finishing the North American leg of the album’s tour this month, and in 2012, she will go overseas to do dates in Australia and New Zealand. about the tour and plans for her follow-up album, Swift told the press: “I am so proud of this tour, and the reason why it’s so much fun is because I obsess over how to treat each song. One of the things that I love about the Speak Now tour is that it’s very theatrical, and each song has its own treatment. the reason I obsess over it so much is that I obsess over writing them so much … with this next album, I’m so excited because I’ve been writing so much. We’re still in the first gear of making it, so as we finish songs and demo them in my producer’s basement, I can picture them being played on the stage. “It’s such a fun, daydreaming job to have. you spend so much of your time planning and daydreaming about the future, and it’s a blast to get to call that a career.”

OMG I just saw on the news that iPhone 3G is going to $99 in the US and much cheaper in Australia!!! and that new iPhone 3G will have 3 mega pixel camera with auto focus and video!!! also the price will drop on the new version!

Im so ANGRY I JUST PURCHASED THE IPHONE 3G damnnnn!!!!
