‘Stranger’s Wrath’ and ‘Munch’s Oddysee’ heading to Vita ‘very soon’

Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath HD and Munch’s Oddysee HD are headed to PlayStation Vita soon, developer Oddworld Inhabitants announced via Facebook.

“Both Stranger’s Wrath HD and Munch’s Oddysee HD are coming to Vita very soon, we just need to get them finished up and through Sony QA before we can release them,” according to the Facebook post. “But I don’t think you’ll have to hold your breathes [sic] too long ;)”

Stranger’s Wrath HD is currently available through the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3, and recently received a slew of free enhancements, including Move support.

In a separate Facebook post, the developer announced that they’re looking for help naming the upcoming remake of Oddworld Abe’s Odyssee, the 1997 PlayStation title that introduced our world to Oddworld.

“We’ve considered Abe’s Oddysee HD, but that makes it sound like we’ve injected bigger pictures into the original engine,” according to an article on the Oddworld Inhabitants website. “This is a grounds-up remake with glorious 3D graphics but retaining the classic 2D gameplay! We need a name that stands out and does it justice!”

Oddworld Inhabitants will have more details for the Abe’s Odysee remake in late September. If you’ve got a clever name in the meantime, you can head over to the Oddworld Inhabitants website to submit it.
