One Heart, a service club for girls at SFX, will host a dance-a-thon from 2-3 p.m. April 4 in the school gym, 808 Linden, Wilmette to raise money necessary to fund one teacher’s salary in Gallete-Chambon, Haiti. The girls are collecting pledges from family friends and neighbors, agreeing to dance for one hour in the school gym for this worthy cause. a team of teachers, school families and parishioners from SFX have been visiting and working with this Haitian community to identify ways to improve conditions for the families of Galette-Chambon. recent efforts have included fundraisers to build a well, plans to install a filtration system to ensure that well water is safe for consumption, and the construction of a school building to replace the flimsy structure that is currently used by teachers and children.

The SFX One Heart Club is open to all St. Francis Xavier School girls in third-seventh grade. The club promotes service to others locally, regionally and globally through the

identification of several service projects per year. Service projects from the current

year include the collection of toiletries for inmates, a crop walk, the purchase and

wrapping of Christmas gifts for Marillac House, participation in a beach clean-up at

Gillson, visits to the new Trier Food Pantry.

Thanks to the chairs

The school is grateful to Stacey Blasko, chair of the Spring Rummage Sale, and to Susan Malloy and Deb Modica, co-chairs of the St. Patrick’s Day Party, for all of their work over the past weeks to ensure a successful series of March HSO events.

Dress down day will be April 4. Dismissal will be at 1:45 p.m.

Spring Break is scheduled for April 6-13. School will be dismissed at 1:45 p.m. April 5.
