Sony Releases New Firmware For PS3 [Sony PS3 Has New Firmware, Challenging Hackers To Do Their Thing]

The battle between hackers and Sony continues. The latest salvo fired off by Sony is that they have launched a new firmware upgrade that is mandatory for all users to download. this upgrades the Sony PS3 firmware to version 3.56 and is a security patch that is supposed to be aimed at keeping hackers from playing homebrew games offline and hacking online games.

It should be said that this particular firmware update is little more than a way for Playstation to have a couple of days or hours of hacker free existence. Whenever Sony releases one of these firmware updates, the hacker community basically takes it as a direct challenge to their personhood to unlock that newest version. There are simply too many reasons out there for people to try and hack the device and at this point these new versions are just continuing to put the company in the crosshairs of some of the best hackers in the world.
