A fire in a Pennsylvania farmhouse has killed seven children, aged from seven months to 11 years old. Fire fighters had to work hard to contain the deadly blaze in the borough of Blain. According to fire officials, the mother of the children had been milking cows when the incident occurred. The father had been sleeping during the initial stages of the fire. The mother was alerted only when a survivor of the blaze, a three year old girl, ran to the milking shed. The woman then ran to a neighbour’s house to alert the fire department. The dead children, six girls and one boy, died of smoke inhalation. Blain is a stretch of farm land about 32 kilometres north of Harrisburg.
