Police Still Investigating Two Bodies Found in Home

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Police are investigating an incident that left two people dead.

It happened Friday afternoon at a home on academy drive.

Both sides of street stayed blocked off as investigators worked through the evening trying to figure out what happened inside the house.

It was just after two in the afternoon police say they responded to a call of shots fired.

Inside, the home, they found two bodies, one man and one woman.

Police have not yet released their identities.

“We’re not going to speculate on the manner of death but I will tell you its being investigated as a homicide,” said Captain Rob Williams with the Greenville Police Department.

Dozens of police cars filled the neighborhood as investigators searched the entire area.

Crime scene tape blocked off several surrounding houses.

The Greenville Police department set up their Mobile Command Unit, and investigators even brought out K-9 units.

“I didn’t hear anything or know anything until the officer came to my house,” said Jeffery Carmichael, a neighbor.

None of the neighbors we talked with knew who lived in the house very well, but say they haven’t lived there very long.

“The guy walked down the street every now and then when I was washing my car we’d speak but other than that I didn’t know anything,”Carmichaelsaid.

Some neighbors also told us there may have been kids inside the home.

Police say they believe this was an isolated incident but neighbors say it still puts them on edge.

“you just got to be watchful and be safe and just pray you know,”Carmichaelsaid.
