New and different recipes for ground turkey?

We're all dieting in the house, and I pulled a pound of ground turkey out of the freezer. I want to make something different with it tonight so that it's not boring or the same old. no burgers, meatballs, or replacement for beef recipes. and I want them to be somewhat dietetic. Thanks in advance.

Steamed Turkey Wontons

1 pound ground turkey
1 (5-ounce) can water chestnuts, strained and finely chopped
1/2 cup scallions, finely chopped
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon jarred minced ginger
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 (16-ounce) pack wonton wrappers
Savoy or Napa cabbage
Bamboo steamer

In a large bowl mix turkey, water chestnuts, scallions, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, egg, and oyster sauce. Fill center of each wonton wrapper with 1 tablespoon of meat filling. Gather wrapper up and twist to secure sides. Brush the edges of the wontons with water to help seal. Arrange cabbage leaves on the bottom of a bamboo steamer. Place dumplings about 1-inch apart and steam until the filling is cooked through, about 20 minutes.

Black Bean, Corn and Turkey Chili:

INGREDIENTS
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 pound ground turkey
1 large onion, chopped
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves, crushed
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 3/4 cups Swanson® Chicken Broth (regular, Natural Goodness™ or Certified Organic)
1 cup Pace® Chunky Salsa
1 tablespoon sugar
1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 (16 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained

DIRECTIONS
Heat the oil in a 4-quart saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the turkey, onion, chili powder, cumin, oregano, black pepper and garlic powder. Cook until turkey is well browned, stirring frequently to break up meat.
Stir the broth, salsa, sugar, beans and corn into the saucepan. Heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to low.
Cover and cook for 30 minutes. Stir the chili occasionally
while cooking.

I was going to give you my favorite recipe for turkey meatballs made with fennel, but now I have to think about it after reading your no meatballs rule….

I like taco salad made with turkey. sorry if you think it's a beef substitute idea. But it's very healthy. Especially if you substitute plain yogurt for the sour cream and avacadoes for the cheese. Serve it in a regular bowl instead of a tortilla bowl and use lots of mexican style chilli beans. Toss lightly with Catalina dressing.

I made a middle easter style dish with ground turkey and made it sort of like meat loaf.

Use skewers if they are wooden its a good time to soak them now (at least for 20 min in water so they won't burn!)
open a package of ground turkey and place in a bowl
add some chopped garlic about 2-3 cloves
parsley
finely diced onion or if no onion use onion powder
worstershire sauce 1/3 cup
one egg beaten
1/3 cup soy sauce
ground black pepper
1 pinch of cinnamon (or omit it if you dont' like it)
cumin
squirt of honey 1tbsp
mix together and add some breadcrumbs to it..make sure they are plain bread crumbs

take your skewers and hold in one hand and create long cigar shaped meatloves and place on the skewers (it will look sort of like a raw corn dog!)

place in a baking sheet and cook at 375 for about 25 min.
I served this with some couscous it was great kept with the middle easter flavors as well.

These are really good. It's all an approximation though

Sautee the turkey with about 2 cloves of garlic, 1/2 can waterchesnuts, 2 cloves of garlic, 2 tsp. brown sugar, 3 – 4 tbsp. soy sauce until the turkey is done.

In a bowl mix together 2 tbsp. corn starch, 1/4 c. soy sauce, and 1 tbsp. fresh ginger. Pour this on the turkey and let cook for about 3 minutes. at the very end add about 1 tsp. sesame oil.

Put this mixture in lettuce, top with fresh grated carrots, and if you like crunchy Chinese noodles.

They're great!

You can make a sort-of goulash/stir-fry type dish…
Brown and drain the ground turkey, then add in any vegetables that you may like (I did it most recently with broccoli, green peppers, carrots, yellow and green summer squash, and corn). cook until the veggies are nice and tender and even add in some stir-fry style sauce if you like. Serve over brown rice or couscous.

turkey taco night!! whole wheat shells, loads of veggies and salsa….you can find a sugar free taco seasoning recipe quite easily at any of the recipe websites.

Throw the turkey in the bin and have a dominos pizza made with the low-fat cheese delivered.

I always make turkey stuffed cabbage rolls with a bacon glaze. Cooking Light has an amazing recipe for this dish that I use a lot.
