National signing day: Curtis Grant picks Ohio State

Finally, an Ohio State recruiting effort ends with a dunk.

Curtis Grant, arguably the top linebacker prospect in the country, moments ago picked theBuckeyes over Florida and others.

Grant, an All-American from Richmond (Hermitage), Va., had kept his thoughts to himself in theweeks leading up to national letter of intent signing day. in the end, though, he said he had adeep feeling for Ohio State and the class he is part of today.

“I think we are going to stick together as a family and try to do good things together,” Grantsaid during the news conference, televised by ESPNU.

Grant is the 22nd player to sign with Ohio State today. here is his bio:

Curtis Grant, LB, 6-3, 225 Richmond (Hermitage), Va.

He was rated the No.2 overall prospect in the country by rivals.com, primarily because of hisoutstanding performance in the U.S. Army All-American game. he was offered by almost all of whatwould be considered the major programs in the country. Scout.com also ranked him the No.1 LB whileTom Lemming ranked him the 19th overall prospect nationally. Named a Parade All-Ameican, hisfinalists included Florida, Virginia and North Carolina. With 4.5-second speed in the 40-yard dash,he grabbed attention with 154 tackles as a junior, and had 134 in 2010.
