Man Dies after being Tasered 9 Times

21 one year old man dies from repeated taser shocks after being arrested and handcuffed in Louisiana. The death of Baron Pikes a sawmill worker in a small town in Louisiana whom was arrested on a warrant for cocaine has been ruled a homicide after extensive examination.

The recent death of Baron Pikes has raised more than just eyebrows as some are now calling it a racially based attack. Reports say the man was handcuffed and laying on the ground prior to the first taser shock however he was reluctant to follow police orders to stand up.

Cocaine use causes the heart rate to rise at an alarming rate and this paired with the use of a shocking device which delivers 50,000 volts of electricity might stop someone’s heart that much easier.

The use of excessive force has long been in the publics view as the use of cameras has come into play. Should someone being tasered 9 times be ruled excessive force especially if the subject is already under constraint? We will leave that for the court to decide.
