CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES

Dream Bigger Dreams, people of all ages can enjoy performances and interactive fun activities with students from both universities which will include Professor Fluffy, the cuddly toy academic who will take children and teenagers on a medical learning journey. liquid nitrogen experiments, cheer leading, street and break dance sessions, the White and Black art exhibition, Green Hallam environmental display, and archaeologists will share interesting discoveries including bones and the typical diet of our ancestors, Winter Garden and Millennium Square, Monday to Friday, 10.30am to 2.30pm.

Shakespeare in a Week: Comedy of Errors, Griffin Theatre Arts workshop at which participants aged 14-18 will work over the week to create a whirlwind version of one of Shakespeare’s play, develop performance and confidence skills, and experience professional rehearsal techniques with a performance on the Friday night, Lantern Theatre, Kenwood Park Road, Nether Edge, Monday to Saturday, 10am-5pm (£55 per person, 2551776).

Follow the Birds Family Trail, families will have the chance to explore Longshaw while learning about the wildlife that lives there, especially birds busy building their nests in the trees, guided by a map and trail leaflet and Raz the Robin, Visitor Centre, National Trust Longshaw Estate, Saturday and Sunday 19 February, 10.30am – 4.30pm (trail sheets cost 50p each).
