Shweta Agarwal, who was seen in the TV series Dekho Magar Pyar Se, is making her Hindi film debut in the next Vikram Bhatt movie Shaapit. in an interview to Metrolife, she opens up about life, her new movie and working with Vikram Bhatt. a science student, Shweta got into TV by luck. “I got noticed during my college festival and subsequently, was called by an ad agency. I went along because I got pocket money for shopping.” soon she was playing Niki in the television serial. “I had actually gone to audition for something else but was told to audition for Niki instead. I was lucky to have landed that role.”

But it was a soap commercial alongside Aishwarya Rai, which brought her to the notice of Oliver Paulus for his Swiss-German production, Tandoori Love and the Turkish film, Miras. “I took the projects because I wanted to do a foreign language film. And the experience was a little different because everything was very organised. soon as I landed, I got my one month itinerary and shooting schedule.”

About her first Hindi movie, she says, “I feel the director is the anchor of a movie. so it all depends on how he wants it to shape up. As an artiste, I have a relationship only with the camera.”

Talking about Vikram Bhatt, she mentions that though initially, she was a little scared of him, he turned out to be quite chilled out. “Vikram looks very serious but gives you the freedom to do what you want. but he tells you if you are going wrong.”

Aditya Narayan, who has acted as a child artiste in many movies, also makes his debut with this movie. “Aditya is a fabulous co-star. he kept entertaining us with his singing.” Shaapit is a love story laced with thriller and horror elements, where Shweta plays a girl named Kaya, who has a generational curse, that comes alive after marriage. “In the movie, Kaya and Aditya’s character Aman, go on a journey to fight off the bad spirit that was troubling them.”

The movie releases on March 19 and when asked about the pre-release jitters, she says, “I am quite confident that we have come up with a good product. And my work is to take the 95 steps. The rest five depends on the audience.” so what are her plans for the future? “I have been associated with the movie since 2008 and I have had no time to do anything else. but I will start reading scripts after I finish promoting the movie,” she signs off.
