Facebook as a Social Enterprise

I have been involved with social media since before the days of Friendster. It has come a long way since then and the evolution has taken place in a very short time frame. We are now at the peak of the Facebook Social Enterprise. Our lives are being held hostage by some gurus behind a screen. All our information is laying flat in front of the world. Groups such as Anonymous have vowed to hack Facebook if they don’t change their personal privacy regulation.

Recently I noticed that Facebook uploaded all my contacts phone numbers. I didn’t give anyone permission to do this but they did it anyway. Then it was my obligation to turn off the feature in facebook. Why is that so? Should I have to be always watching as social networking invades every inch of my privacy. The crazy part about it is that we let this happen to us. It is just another experiment to see how far the human can be controlled. It’s almost like a legal holocaust of our information. We are all being stripped down and thrown in front of the world. What’s next?

Is anything safe anymore? Does anyone even care that they are controlling all our information, how we build our personal networks, who we can and can’t see or talk to , where we can turn people off with the click of a button. How imaginative it is to just flip a switch and make your world a better place.

A Fun Kickoff to the Holiday Season Every Year

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation has become a hilarious holiday tradition for our family.

On the night of Thanksgiving each year, our family watches the Clark Griswold try to create the perfect Christmas for his family on our satellite television from www.BestChoiceTV.com.

Our friends and family gather around the living room television amazed each year at the comedy prowess of Chevy Chase as the bumbling Clark. Randy Quaid keeps us in stitches with what may be his best performance as Clark’s unwanted and inept cousin Eddie.

But what makes Christmas Vacation so endearing is the grain of truth that comes with a superb comedy. Our family members can relate in some way to Clark’s efforts to make the best holiday ever. We’ve all struggled with the perfect outdoor light display. We have distant relatives that have many of the same quirks as the supporting cast in the movie. And we’ve all somehow felt “victimized” by the commercialization of the season and a company bonus that didn’t materialize as we expected. We have also cheered as the underdog wins in the end.

But certainly, none of us went to the extremes highlighted in this delightful, comedy. The Christmas season just doesn’t feel like its started in our house until after the annual viewing of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

The Joy of Watching Nick Jr. With My Children

I have to admit that I regularly watch Nick Jr. with my kids on EXPERT satellite TV. It seems like the programming on Nick Jr. just keeps getting better and better. Over the years, this network has added lots of shows that actually hold my attention.

One of my favorite shows on Nick Jr. is Yo Gabba Gabba. I think the reason why I like this show so much is because it reminds me a lot of kid’s shows from my youth. The people who made this show incorporate lots of music with an ’80s beat along with video game graphics and noises reminiscent of the old Atari or Nintendo systems. It thrills me that my son seems to enjoy this show as much as I do, because it’s something we can enjoy together.

Of all the characters on Yo Gabba Gabba, Toodee is my favorite. She has the most personality, and she’s very independent. I also love the fact that you don’t really know what kind of creature Toodee is. She sort of looks like a cat, but when you look closely at her you’re still not quite sure what she is.

New Star Treck Movie On Direct TV

My favorite action movie so far has to be the new Star Trek movie. As a fan of the old series, I was in heaven when the movie came out on the big screen, and was there the first day it opened. Now, I can watch the movie on my directtv Specials, and watch it from the comfort of my own big and comfy couch. There were so many good parts of the movie, I’m not sure which one I liked the best. Chris Pine was perfect as Captain Kirk, I believe, and played his role to perfection. I especially did like the bar fight scene in the beginning, and loved how the movie started out with so much action. The characters did their parts justice, and I know I wasn’t the only one who loved seeing the original Spock, Leonard Nimoy, in the film.

The plot was an interesting one, and knowing that these were characters that I grew up on made it a movie that more interesting to watch. Even with all the skepticism and controversy surrounding the remake, I think it was an excellent movie, and one I’m glad to watch again and again.
