Brighton, Biang!, Caramello, All Certified Open – Tuesday Opening Report – Eater NY

1) Chelsea: The group behind the BLT restaurants has opened Brighton in the Eventi Hotel space that formerly housed Foodparc. Brighton serves menu items from Fish Shack and GO Burger. Starting this week, Eventi Plaza will be taken over by Hester Street fair every Thursday night for an outdoor market. The second floor of the space will be occupied by Humphrey’s, an American farm-to-table restaurant which will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner — that’s slated to debut later this month. 2) East Village: EV Grieve reports that a new cafe called Bistro Cafe & Grill is now open on first Avenue. Status: Certified Open; 26 E 1st Avenue (212) 677-2122.

3) Flushing: Xi’an Famous Foods spinoff Biang! is now open in Flushing. Biang! is owner Jason Wang’s first sit down restaurant, with 40 seats inside and 20 seats outside. The cuisine is similar to what’s served at Xi’an, but with many new dishes. Status: Certified Open; 41-10 Main Street Flushing, Queens (212) 786-2068.

4) Park Slope: Caramello is a new cafe that opened in Park Slope from Nicoletta Grippo. She was previously the owner of Gelateria Dolce Amoreback in her native Vancouver.
